The Sexy Bin Laden Sings (Wafah Dufour)
“Wafah Dufour, who changed her last name from Bin Laden when her parents divorced, is a fan of the Black Lips, and spoke to the band’s manager about working together. We’re pretty positive Uncle Osama wouldn’t be too pleased about his niece’s decision to work with Black Lips, especially with their track record of naked stage diving, man-on-man making out on stage, and overall ridiculous behavior, but according to the Lips, the band is more than happy to be working with Dufour.”

Now I honestly don’t know all that much about Black Lips, but who would’ve thought that one of the 300 nieces and nephews of Osama bin Ladin, already cursed by association with the man allegedly behind September 11, would aim to become a pop star in the western world? Apparently she’s been aiming for pop star status since 2003, so maybe I’m a little late on her, but it looks like she’s still on the rise.
“Miss bin Laden – an American-trained lawyer – has become a player on the London party circuit since she moved to the capital six months ago from New York. She has rejected her strict Muslim background and has adopted all the hallmarks of Western culture, smoking, drinking and wearing mini-skirts…

So I went to listen to some of her choons to see what she’s about, and it turns out, she’s actually a pretty decent singer… She doesn’t have any albums out that I know of yet, but the songs she has on her Myspace are sorta catchy. Who knows, maybe you’ll be hearing from Wafah Dufour on the radio in the near future.
