‘LAME’ BAPESTA COLLECTION

“Much like their previously released Roadsta’s, A Bathing Ape give their “Lame”, actual name of the product, treatment to the classic Bapesta platform. This new collection consists of four different two-tone colorways done up in a peal glitter patent leather finish. All four versions can now be purchased via A Bathing Ape Chapter stores worldwide.”

I’ve always thought Bapes were somewhat overhyped, but I can’t lie, these are pretty fresh. By the way I really like the beat & ‘bapesounds’ on the Bape site.

YO DAWG I HEARD YOU SLEEP LIKE A BEAR SO WE PUT YOU IN A SLEEPING BEAR

“Designed by Eiko Ishizawa, this synthetic sleeping bag is meant to resemble the wandering great brown bear of the Alps.
This great design plays on several basic human emotions including the fear of getting eaten by a bear, being a bear as well as wearing a bear skin.”

KANYE WEST DOESN’T CARE ABOUT POOR PEOPLE (Shoes)
“Since word broke a few months ago about a sneaker project done by Kanye West and Louis Vuitton info was scarce and kept under wraps. Photos finally surfaced of (most) of the lineup recently, but pricing has still been a bit of a mystery and a guessing game – until now.
Late last night, a Nice Kicks reader sent us information about the upcoming Kanye West x Louis Vuitton shoes including the prices and the names of each model. The men’s collection consists of three models, the Louis Vuitton Don’s (most likely named after Ye, but also could be a shout to Don C, his manager), Jasper’s (named after Kanye’s barber), and the Mr. Hudson’s (named after the GOOD Music artist and 808 collaborator of the same name).
Click here to see how much the Kanye West for Louis Vuitton collection will set you back when they release in June.”

Kanye West for Louis Vuitton – Mr Hudson’s – $840

$800+? How can you be so heartless when I’m so cashless, Kanye???
I would’ve copped some Don’s and maybe Mr. Hudsons, but for $800+ these kicks better let me float, walk on water, and make breakfast for me in the mornings.

Karl Lagerfeld, €1000 Teddy Bears, Mariah Carey, and You

Original image that inspired this entry, via Carrie

“Before Karl, we all looked to couture for inspiration and direction. Now, through his work, fashion originates from the street, the media—anywhere. This has resulted in exciting collections that are provocative and sensual. His unrelenting experimentation in fashion, art and photography offers us endless possibilities yet is always grounded and relevant.”
– Source: Time
Lagerfeld also has a special edition customized teddy bear, valued at over €1000. Build-a-bear ain’t got nothin’ on this.

“As an avid photographer, Lagerfeld often shoots his own press photos, and is sometimes called “Kaiser Karl” by the press. His personal trademarks include a fan, a long ponytail for his powdered-white hair, and sunglasses. He is a uniquely confident man and speaks German, French, English, and Italian.”

His shots of Mariah Carey for V Magazine:

“Lagerfeld currently designs for three companies: his own label, Chanel, and furs for Fendi of Italy.”
