‘FLOCKE’ THE POLAR BEAR

“Flocke is a polar bear cub who was born in captivity at the Nuremberg Zoo in Nuremberg, Germany on 11 December 2007. Flocke was taken from her mother, Vera, after zookeepers noticed unusual activity by Vera and also after another female polar bear at the Nuremberg zoo, Vilma, had eaten her two cubs on 7 January 2008.
Flocke received her name on 18 January 2008, after numerous submissions of proposed names by the public. Flocke, or “flake” (as in “snowflake”) in English, was the name first given the female cub by her zookeepers.”

Global Giving Donations!
GlobalGiving’s current focus for the first semester is to provide assistance to one of the schools in the region as it goes through partial reconstruction.
The elementary school’s name is Hua-Yu. The school is located in a village near Nanchong, Sichuan. All the students (around 350) are from undeveloped agricultural communities.”
“Our goal is to raise $4,500 — to build a new library and to purchase complete sets of text material, updated encyclopedia, and leisurely reading collections for the students. With just $100, we can buy an entire classroom set of a textbook for the students! “
If you could donate, that’d be awesome!
Even if you might not have the spare cash, it’d help if you could still help by spreading the word on to people who might want to donate, or pass it on to your parents to pass it on to their co-workers!
Even just “reblogging” this post to help spread the word!
C’mon, I know my ninjas would never fail. ;D
